Spin Business Framework  (SBF) is a powerful and highly configurable business application framework that can be swiftly configured to build enterprise-level information management systems for almost any vertical application.  SBF includes features for rapid application development, document management, document assembly, workflow, team collaboration, and reporting and executive dashboards.

Implementing Application Standards Across the Organization

As more and more organizations migrate and consolidate both legacy applications as well as decentralized applications to the web a major challenge emerges. How do you get different teams of developers and business users who are working on a portfolio of applications firstly to agree on and secondly to implement a common set of GUI standards that will deliver a suite of applications with a common look and feel? The Spin Business Framework (SBF) seeks to address this requirement by providing a flexible, configurable, reusable and secure framework that provides the standards, common look and feel as well the flexibility to support multiple applications as well as multiple business groups.

SBF enforces the need for standardization of user interfaces and facilitates code reuse across the organization. Standardization is crucial to software design. It allows developers to:

  • Integrate new applications with existing systems more efficiently
  • Reduce learning curve and development times
  • Maintain, support, and enhance existing systems effectively
  • Enforce Best Practices within the standards and promote them across all applications

The ability of developers and business groups to independently build and deploy web applications only makes the challenge greater and the need more urgent, particularly for the end user. Effective GUI deployment, for anything more complex than a standalone workgroup solution, depends on the ability to implement a consistent user interface. However, the traditional approaches - standards manuals and style guides - have had only limited success and that success is eroded where the use of prototyping, evolutionary development and other rapid application development (RAD) techniques leads to developers focusing very much on a specific user need and less on team working and integration.
